For the Dogs!
New Slider Images
You may have noticed (or not) that I’ve replaced the images that are featured on the main page slider at the top of the page. The images I’ve used are ones I’ve taken in years past – most are from 2009!
I would love to feature your dogs in the slider. To have your dog featured in the slider, please send me a photo at the highest resolution you have. I can always adjust the resolution down for the web.
When submitting a photo, please only send “landscape” orientation photos. Landscape photos are those that are wider than they are tall. Those are the only ones that will actually work well in the slider.
I know everyone would like to see a variety of member dogs, so please share your photos!
Event Calendar Updated
The Event Calendar has been updated to include Hunt Tests through May 2018. These are Hunt Tests as listed on the HRC official web site as of today, November 27, 2017.
NEFHRC Training Days are scheduled through June 2018.
Help Wanted!
As noted in an earlier post, the NEFHRC 2018 Spring Hunt Test is scheduled for April 14-15, 2018. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO HELP WITH THE TEST!

It’s That Time Again!
Remember – NEFHRC memberships are due for renewal on January 1st of each year. Renewing has never been easier! You can renew your membership on-line using the on-line registration/renewal form on the Club site at http://www.nefhrc.net/club-information/online-membership-application/.
Alternatively, you can complete and send in a paper hard copy application by downloading a membership application. Recent issues of The Hunter’s Blind, the club’s official newsletter, contain the application that can be used. If you no longer have your copy, you can access the membership application on-line at http://nefhrc.net/documents/member-app.pdf.
Either way, please be sure to renew your membership!
NEFHRC 2018 Spring Hunt Test – SAVE THE DATE!
The NEFHRC 2018 Spring Hunt Test is scheduled for the weekend of April 14 – April 15, 2018 at SSJ Quail Farm in Hilliard, FL. The Event Calendar has been updated to include the details to date.
Mark your calendars to attend and sign-up early to ensure your spot.
Any questions should be directed to Hunt Chair Tom Gaddis or Hunt Secretary Barry Sales.
As more details are available, I will update the Calendar and post on the blog. So, check back often.
Training Days’ Reminders
We have been very fortunate to have a couple of sites for training days (thank you to Dan Meinert, Carolyn Abood and Betsy Reiney). Also participation has been good.
To maintain this going forward here are some guidelines for NEFHRC training days:
- be respectful of the properties/property owners by picking up any trash and driving only where suggested
- RSVP when possible to give us an idea of how many people to plan for, equipment needed, etc.
- arrive on time and be helpful with set-up, placement of blinds/wingers
- IF you plan to run your dog(s) then help with throwing/winger loading/marshal duty/set-up. Even if its just walking bumpers out to restock a blind….do something.
- always ASK before offering advice on someone’s dog, using your dog as honor dog, etc. –remember there will be dogs that run at all levels from puppies to master hunters

Due to eye problems, there will be no November issue of The Hunter’s Blind.

October Training Day UPDATE
Hello Club Members!!!
Our monthly training day will be held this coming Saturday, October 21st, at WFWC 9717 103rd Street, Jacksonville,Fla. 32210. Start time is 8 a.m.
If you can attend, please call/text Carolyn at 904-505-3404 by October 17th.
If you have training questions, Carolyn will pass them along to the set up team. Look forward to seeing you all 10/21/17.
